Every good gift is from above for sure
Coming down from the Father of heavenly lights
But we too often forget what those gifts are for
To reflect his light

If I don't know it how can I show it?
Perhaps I know more than I am willing to admit
We can't get free from our bodies because you and me still hang onto what we see.

Just because we don't know now doesn't mean we'll never know but it can take us so far from where you're supposed to go, where we could have been.
Whoah, Don't get too close to sin

Every sin is from my own lust, for sure
But we too often forget who our sins are for
My selfish ambition has got me knocking on sin's door
Saying, "Come lay me down! Take my hope from me!"
Why can't I get free from my body? Because I still hold onto what I see

Oh Lord, I admit to laying like a dog when you speak
For knowing what to do but doing nothing
For knowing your word of life but not living

Yours is the only life
I live because you died
And we are just simpletons

Every sin is from my own lust, for sure

My selfish ambition has got me knocking on sin's door
