Commentary:
PanalfeX Magazine is very inside as far as the jokes go. At the time of the magazine's release people still pretty much knew what it was talking about.
Savage Beatings (often on kids), & Drinking Books were things Piemerican was known for at that time.
Slack jawed yokels is somewhat referring to skillet hats but mainly to our love for the hilarity of it.
Interesting dental care for your teeth, refers to a time (The Joe) and Lalso PanafleX were in the bleachers in high school and did some extreme tooth care joking around involving strangling themselves with floss and saying "Hey ma, look at me brush my teeth" then pretending to use a hammer as a toothbrush and smashing their teeth out.
Travel: "See beautiful places..." was originally found in the mock magazine, EveryThing was Personally Hand Washed by me., that inspired Piemerican Magazine.
Sunsets Magazine article names GST as 'source' of photos in magazine.
TIME: The time magazine cover originally used a different photo for the clock.

I originally dated the Time magazine March 14, 2002 to be funny as if saying 'Time knows the future' I figured that I'd surely be done with the magazine by that time. It actually took me nine more months after March 02 to finish it so 'the future already happened' had to be added for it to make sense.
