In the Name of Beauty
Information
People like everything they see to be pleasing to the eye. Whether it is cars, houses, or clothes. There is a difference between human beings and material possessions. People have feelings. People can only change their appearance so much. Attaining beauty can be dangerous.

The mass media generalization of beauty has caused many to believe this is the only way to be. The results are that these waste their time, destroy their bodies & emotions, and finally make them feel unfulfilled for no good reason. Beauty is not fulfilling because even if the status is attained one continues to strive to be even more beautiful.

Most rely on other people's acceptance to feel good. I however do not care what one thinks or says. I, however do not care what one thinks or says. Sadly most do. Much like a virus one could believe a certain thing then those around tend to believe too due to association.

Beauty seems false anyway. Although physical appearance plays a big part much of it is how one makes oneself look through clothing, hair etc. Physical appearance matters too much to people and is the easy way out. It is easy to merely judge one on appearance rather than to get to know them.

Attaining beauty can be dangerous. The physical, emotional, and mental negativity for outweigh the pluses of beauty. Beauty only lasts so long, we should spend our time on something lasting.
Originally written for High School Senior English 4 with my original teacher.
I actually completely forgot that I had a different English teacher at the beginning of the year until I looked at this again (6/9/04).

We were to do a report on the importance of beauty in the world today. Most people who read this did not understand what I wrote.
In the handwritten version the word cars appeared to look like the word ears.
I never took writing classes in school b/c I hated being forced to write on particular subjects. I did still do quite well when I had to but I did not enjoy the seriousness (cornyness) of it all.
The teacher put a question mark at the end as if to ask what the lasting thing was.
