Mr. B (5:13) Real Title: Mr. B or Jerusalem Known Title: Jerusalem What I Call It: Mr. B or Jerusalem Mysteries: I don’t know what the real title is perhaps it is one of those songs such as When I’m Like this that has 2 titles. Thom once said that Jerusalem was about Oxford life but these lyrics don’t back that up unless there are some big secrets happening. Since Everybody Lies Through Their Teeth is also supposed to be about Oxford & has almost no proof of existence maybe Jerusalem isn’t about Oxford. Given the lyrics the name Jerusalem fits. I am certain that Mr. B is one of the correct titles for this song. I was informed that he sings 29 as in B-29 Bomber. My Thoughts: This song ties in with Burning Bush but from a slightly different point of view. The moral of this song: people are more important than power. Info: The 'death wears a big hat' line is taken from Tokyo Storm Warning by Elvis Costello. Recorded at Clifton Hampden Village Hall, drums - Nigel Powell
Lyrics: Millions of people standing like ghosts Waiting for the entrance sign To heaven or hell or Whatever they call The place of oblivion After the bomb drops Death wears a big hat and a thin red tie He dances in front of all the cameras Death has a satchel his buddies carry And in it inside is the key to the world Here comes Mr. B, B 29 Here comes Mr. B 29 Here comes Mr. B, B 29 Here comes Mr. B 29 Somewhere in Palestine A crazy angry man wants to rule the world So he buys himself an atom bomb And drops it on your head & You know what he wants Cos you won't have a face to hold on to Yeah, hold on to Yeah Here comes Mr. B, B 29 Here comes Mr. B 29 Here comes Mr. B, B 29 Here comes Mr. B 29 I don't want to hear about this shit I don't want to know about your confessions There's nothing in this life that really means As much as me and you And life is so important And all you're talking about is bombs Pouring all our money down the drain And we don't want to hear about it Here comes Mr. B, B 29 Here comes Mr. B 29 Here comes Mr. B, B 29 Here comes Mr. B 29 I don't want to die Don't want to die Don't want to die Oh no I don't want to die Don't want to die Don't want to die Wooh I don't want to die Don't want to die Don't want to die But here she come now Mr. B 29 B 29
